Miriam Schaffer, account manager

Miriam Schaffer has been in the presence of the Pope and the Queen of England, and she’s connected to media folks all over the world—literally. Miriam is a great networker, a most valuable skill in this line of work.
At Placemaking Group, Miriam uses her connections and great sense of a good news story to implement a variety of public relations programs for its consumer, corporate, travel and real estate clients. She is well-versed in media relations, community relations and media training.
She is responsible for PR and community outreach programs for clients such as Catellus Development Group, the City of Fairfield Community Development Department, Warmington Homes and Napa Downtown Association. Miriam has also promoted books related to home building and finance, including “Building Your Own Home for Dummies,” a top-seller in the IDG book series.
As a former television news and talk-show producer, Miriam draws upon her experience with key media decision-makers to produce local and national publicity. She has garnered client coverage in top-tier media including CNN, the Today Show, and the Wall Street Journal.
Miriam previously managed strategic communications programs for the San Francisco International Airport and leading personal finance expert and author Jim Jorgensen. She has also provided promotions for Champions on Ice, Sesame Street Live and Old Firehouse School, which became a national model for early childhood education programs.
She holds a bachelor's degree in English from Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, New York.
